Maybe I take my manuscript or my time too seriously, but I would never do a complete rewrite as that would mean throwing so much of my work away, and I can't stand the thought of it. How bad does it have to be to just… move on? I am not sure. Maybe I envy those who have the energy to create a complete new manuscript after just creating one.

I feel like most traditionally published books are a group project, whose members are usually listed in Acknowledgements. I am not sure how I feel about that, as I always wanted to write MY book based on my own judgements only. But it seems impossible on such a long project. When do you think your book stops being yours or yours only?

Psychologists say that we have different personalities in different languages, but for me there is barely any difference in style or rhythm between English and Russian. At least when I write. When talking I sure swear a lot more in Russian. 😊
Anyway, do you think you can write a book in a language that is not your mother tongue?
Also, do you have different personalities in each of the languages you speak?
